Rea’s Human Resources Manager Prepares For SHRM’s Highest Credential
New Philadelphia, Ohio – Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, announces that Renee West, SHRM-CP, PHR, Rea’s human resources manager, was awarded a certification scholarship from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Foundation. This scholarship will be used to purchase study material and cover exam fees associated with the cost of earning accreditation as a “senior certified professional” or “SHRM-SCP.”
During the selection process, the SHRM Foundation Scholarship Review Committee determined award recipients on their work experience/career progression, volunteer activity and financial need. Once awarded, the funds can be used for any combination of test preparation and/or exam fees.
“My goal is to begin studying for the exam later this year and sit for the exam in February of 2018,” said West. “I am always trying to improve myself and bring more experience to the firm. This scholarship will help me achieve my goals. I am grateful to the Society for Human Resource Management Foundation for their support.”
With more than 20 years of experience in the HR industry, West is responsible for leading Rea’s recruitment and professional development efforts. She regularly collaborates with senior leadership and office managers to drive execution of the firm’s human resources strategies and initiatives in an effort to achieve greater employee engagement and productivity. West currently serves as board president of SHRM’s Tuscora branch as well as the workforce readiness director for the State of Ohio SHRM in Columbus.
A member of the Rea team since 2015, West holds a business management degree from Kent State University. She resides in Dover.
