Annie Yoder Tapped To Oversee Regional Firm’s Leadership & Development Initiatives
September 15, 2017 | New Philadelphia, Ohio – Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, continues to move forward with its initiative to actively identify and develop top talent. To this end, the regional firm has formally established a dedicated development director position and has tapped principal and long-time team member Annie Yoder, CPA, CFE, CFF, to serve in the new role. As director of development, Yoder will be responsible for overseeing leadership, development and succession planning initiatives across the multi-office firm.
“Annie is actively invested in the growth of the firm and is constantly looking for ways to bring out the best in our team while identifying ways to serve our clients and our team better,” said Don McIntosh, CPA, Rea’s CEO “The development director position is a perfect fit for her.”
Since joining Rea in 2003, Yoder has primarily focused on risk assessment, addressing occupational fraud concerns and improving internal control structure as a member of the firm’s government services team. Moving forward, her time will be split between adhering to her new responsibilities and serving clients as a practitioner.
“I’m still going to be a CPA and I’m still going to practice,” said Yoder. “Actually, the fact that I hold this certification and will continue to serve clients will make me that much more effective in my new role with the firm. As our director of development, I need to understand what our professionals are going through every day as practitioners. And when I know what is going on in the trenches, I gain a better understanding of what our team needs to be even more successful in their careers while providing even greater value to our clients.”
Yoder earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Walsh University. She went on to earn her master’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance from Ashland University. In 2013, she was awarded The Richard Rea Award for Service to the Client and in 2015, she was recognized as a Top 10 Rising Star by the National Academy of Public Accounting Professionals.
Yoder continues to further her professional development by being an active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the American Institute of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs. She is also a 2015 graduate of Rea’s NextGen Leadership Program. With her experience, Yoder will be in charge of enhancing Rea’s succession planning, talent recruitment, onboarding, performance management, professional development, and employee retention. She understands that the success of Rea is linked to its people and professional development will drive the firm to a bright future. She resides in North Canton.
