Michael Schafer Passes CPA Exam

Rea & Associates’ Associate Earns CPA Distinction

September 9, 2019  Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, announces that Michael Schafer has successfully completed and passed all four parts of the CPA exam and is now a Certified Public Accountant. Schafer, an associate in the firm’s Mentor office, is responsible for tax preparation and providing accounting services to Rea clients.

The CPA examination is administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to ensure that only qualified individuals become CPAs. After candidates pass all four parts of the CPA exam, they must also pass a professional ethics exam before they can use the CPA designation. According to the AICPA, the CPA exam is one of the most difficult professional credential examinations and the average passing rate is one of the lowest in any professional qualification test.

Schafer earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Kent State University, and started his career at Rea as an intern in the Mentor office. He resides in Cleveland.
