Local CPA Firm Gives Pets A Chance To Lend a Paw To Help With Ongoing Disaster Relief Efforts

Paws-To-Paws Campaign Nets More Than $5,500 For Humane Society of the United States’ Disaster Relief Efforts

New Philadelphia – Rea & Associates, Inc., a regional accounting and business consulting firm, and Walthall CPAs, a regional firm set to merge into Rea on Nov. 1, recently organized the “Paws-To-Paws” campaign to help raise money for The Humane Society of the United States’ disaster relief efforts in response to last month’s devastating hurricanes. In addition to providing the firms’ employees with the opportunity to donate to the initiative – with all funds being matched by The Rea Foundation – the foundation committed to donating $25 for every pet picture tagged with “#PawsToPaws” and shared with the firms on Facebook and Twitter. The campaign, which ran Sept. 25-Oct. 6, was successful in raising $5,880. Funds will be donated directly to the Humane Society of the United States’ disaster relief efforts.

“As we prepare to merge Walthall into Rea & Associates, we know that community service is at the heart of both of firms’ cultures. This initiative allowed us to bring our firms together toward a common goal and to work together as ‘one firm’ for the first time, all while reinforcing that culture and helping the animals affected by the recent hurricanes,” said Becca Davis, Rea’s director of practice growth. “Animal relief organizations are often forgotten when a disaster occurs – especially weeks and months after the fact. We wanted to do our part to ensure that the countless animals that are still in need of assistance are cared for.”

The Humane Society of the United States’ Disaster Relief Fund helps animals impacted by natural disasters. The fund supports the rescue and relief efforts for past, present and future natural disasters.

Walthall’s and Rea’s donations will help the Humane Society’s team provide excellent care and necessary supplies to the animals affected by the hurricanes.

While the “Paws-To-Paws” campaign has ended, public support doesn’t have to stop there. The public can continue to support the Humane Society’s Disaster Relief Fund by making a secure donation here.
