episode 134 – workforce wellness: how it impacts your bottom line

Jeremiah Gracia joins Dave on this edition of unsuitable on Rea Radio to discuss workforce wellness/development and how it affects a business’s bottom line.

The weather is getting nicer, which means more people are headed outside before work, after work, and over their lunch breaks – but it may not be a coincidence that we are seeing more of our co-workers outdoors. Over the last decade or so, many businesses have begun embracing a range or workforce development initiatives, including corporate wellness. Our guest has a lot to say on the topic of workforce development, and the role corporate wellness plays into the larger picture.

Jeremiah Gracia is an economic development administrator with the City of Dublin and the winner of a 40 Under 40 Award in Economic Development. In an effort to promote continued economic stability and growth within Dublin, Jeremiah has taken an interest in the importance of workforce development and its impact on the business and community.

Historically, economic development was about assets – like where a company can house its business and people – but that has changed dramatically over the past few years. Today, the number one thing that companies ask Jeremiah about is how they can reduce their risk of finding quality workers. That’s why Jeremiah’s focus has shifted from companies to individual workers. Because if there is no workforce (or no healthy workforce), then companies will struggle and the community will suffer.

If you have employees or are an employee, you will be interested in these other topics discussed in this episode:

  • How workforce development directly impacts your company’s bottom line.
  • The important role of corporate wellness in a workforce development strategy.
  • What you can do today to start developing your workforce.
