Emily Anderson Receives Marcia L. Stutzman Scholarship Award

Annual Scholarship Helps Keep Legacy Alive

West Holmes high school senior and scholarship award recipient, Emily Anderson, with Rea’s Chris Roush, CPA

Millersburg, Ohio – The employees of Rea & Associates, Inc., in conjunction with The Rea Foundation, continue to honor the life and memory of Marcia L. Stutzman, CPA, through a memorial scholarship directed and managed by the Holmes County Education Foundation. This year, Emily Anderson, a graduating senior at West Holmes High School, was the recipient of the award.

Anderson’s interest in accounting and finance, as well as her hard work in the midst of serious health issues, made her the ideal recipient. She and her twin sister have cystic fibrosis and are passionate about raising money for the foundation to find a cure. Despite the obstacles she has faced, Emily is actively involved in athletics and volunteer work.

Marcia Stutzman, a 23-year employee and principal with Rea & Associates, passed away in January of 2013 at the age of 43 from Leiomyosarcoma. In her honor, the firm established the Marcia L. Stutzman Memorial Scholarship, which is designed to assist West Holmes graduating seniors pursuing majors in accounting, finance or business.

In the fall, Emily will pursue an accounting and finance degree from Ashland University.
