December 5, 2016 | New Philadelphia, Ohio – Rea & Associates, Inc., a regional accounting and business consulting firm, announces that Don McIntosh, CPA, CGFM, CFE, will formally begin his term as the firm’s fifth CEO on Jan. 1, 2017. The firm’s board of directors appointed McIntosh to serve in this capacity earlier this year after concluding a comprehensive selection phase.
“During our succession planning meetings, the leadership team conducted a precise and thoughtful selection process, similar to how we advise our own clients as they embark on their own succession planning journey,” said Lee Beall, CPA, the firm’s current CEO. “I know that we tapped the right person for the job and I’m excited to see how the firm will continue to grow and evolve under his leadership.”
McIntosh will officially replace Beall at the beginning of the new year. Beall will stay on as an executive principal with the firm to help ease the transition and streamline several key initiatives in line with Rea’s strategic direction.
“I am honored to assume the role of CEO and look forward to building on so many of our past success,” said McIntosh. “It’s such a great time to be a Rea client and employee and I am energized to embark on this next journey as the firm continues to reach many new and exciting milestones.”
A long-time leader in the firm and the accounting profession, McIntosh earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio University. He began his career in 1981 and went on to work as an auditor for the State of Ohio before joining Rea & Associates in 1995. Prior to being tapped to lead as CEO, he served in various leadership positions in the firm, including: director of government services, executive vice president of operations and chief leadership officer. In addition to being asked to share his experience and expertise with various professional organizations across the state, he is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Ohio Society of CPAs, the Ohio School Board Association, the Ohio Association of Public Treasurers, the Ohio Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Association of Government Accountants, the Ohio Association of School Business Officials, the Ohio County Auditor Association, the Ohio Government Finance Officers Association and the Ohio Public Finance Officers Association.
The firm’s other past CEOs are Richard Rea (1938-1978), Chet Stocker (1978-1998), Tim Michel (1998-2008) and Lee Beall (2008-present).
McIntosh resides in New Philadelphia.
