Rea & Associates Manager Committed To Performing High Quality, Specialized Audits
Medina – Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, announces that Chad Gorfido, CPA, a manager on the firm’s government and not-for-profit teams, obtained advanced single audit certification. Obtaining this certification, which is offered by the American Institute of CPAs, demonstrates Gorfido’s commitment to performing high quality audits for this specialized area of practice.
According to the program’s description, the curriculum was developed by leading subject matter experts from the AICPA’s Governmental Audit Quality Center. The exam tests one’s ability to plan, direct and report on single audits in accordance with the latest requirements of the new Uniform Guidance. The advanced level is designed for auditors with seven or more years of experience in performing and reviewing single audits.
“This is a great accomplishment for Chad, and it is one that will greatly benefit government and not-for-profit clients across the state,” said Zac Morris, CPA, principal and director of government services.
Gorfido has worked with Rea since 2009. In his current role, he is responsible for managing governmental and not-for-profit audits. He’s also responsible for day-to-day audit, client communications and ensuring the timely completion of projects. Gorfido specializes in internal control effectiveness and efficiencies, A-133 audits, governmental GAAP accounting, charter school operations and accounting and audit methodology.
