Young Professionals Earn CPA Distinctions
New Philadelphia, Ohio – Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, announces that Josh Agin, Lane McCartney and Jesse Kandel have successfully completed and passed all four parts of the CPA exam and are now Certified Public Accountants.
The CPA examination is administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to ensure that only qualified individuals become CPAs. After candidates pass all four parts of the CPA exam, they must also pass a professional ethics exam before they can use the CPA designation. According to the AICPA, the CPA exam is one of the most difficult professional credential examinations and the average passing rate is one of the lowest in any professional qualification test.
Agin, a senior associate in the firm’s Zanesville office, is responsible for tax preparation, accounting and client service. He earned his bachelor’s degree in corporate financial management from the University of Akron where he graduated magna cum laude. He resides in Zanesville.
McCartney, a senior associate in the firm’s Cambridge office, is responsible for working closely with clients to help them with a variety of tax and accounting needs. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Franklin University and also earned an associates degree in business management and human resources from Zane State College. She resides in Cambridge.
Kandel, an associate in the firm’s New Philadelphia office, is responsible for preparing tax returns, completing audit work and assisting with various tax-related projects. He started at Rea as an intern and joined the firm full-time in 2018. Kandel earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kent State University and he resides in New Philadelphia, OH.
