Charity event will benefit Goodwill's Wheels to Work program
WOOSTER, Ohio – Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, is holding the third annual Cruise for a Cause from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, June 15 on the square in downtown Wooster. The event will benefit Goodwill Industries of Wayne and Holmes Counties’ Wheels to Work program, which helps lower income workers purchase cars and establish credit. Individuals who qualify for the program must have minor children or be paying support plus have a solid work history. One of the largest barriers in getting and keeping a job is the lack of reliable transportation to get to work.
“We had a great event last year and were able to make a nice donation to Goodwill's Wheels to Work program,” said Molly Farley, CPA, of Rea & Associates and member of Goodwill Industries of Wayne and Holmes Counties, Inc.’s Board of Directors. “The money we raise this year will once again help Goodwill purchase vehicles for Wheels to Work applicants and thus, put more people to work."
The fundraiser will be held during Main Street Wooster Inc.’s Cruise In event, which Rea & Associates is sponsoring. The main raffle item for this year’s event is a 32” Dell LCD TV, a $1,100 value, courtesy of Rea & Associates. Tickets are $5 each (or 5 for $20) and can be purchased at the event or at Rea & Associates’ office, 545 North Market Street. In addition, there will be raffles for other gift baskets which have been donated by area merchants and businesses.
“We’re thrilled that Main Street Wooster invited us to be involved with the Cruise In again this year,” said Bob Mapes, CPA and shareholder of Rea & Associates. “It’s a great community event. We’re looking forward to seeing our neighbors and friends stop by our booth and contribute to our Cruise for a Cause.”
