Stocker, managing member and principal of Investment Partners LTD, has been named one of the "Top 1,000 Financial Advisors in America" by Barron's magazine, a leading financial publication. Stocker also ranked sixth in Ohio in the publication's 2010 state-by-state ranking. Stocker's firm, Investment Partners LTD, is a locally owned, SEC-registered investment advisor with offices in Columbus, Millersburg, Mentor and New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Barron's noted that, to make its list, advisors needed to demonstrate leadership in their states in assets under advisement, generate ample revenue for their firms, run provably high-quality practices and exhibit exemplary regulatory records.
The publication also commented that most of the 1,000 advisors hail from large brokerage houses and banks, with a striking number - 317 - coming from Merrill Lynch alone. Other factors included a strikingly high client retention rate, measured at 97 percent, and an average tenure of 25 years in the industry.
Each advisor on this year's state-by-state ranking was filtered down from a list of more than 4,000 nominees, with 25 percent more nominations received than last year. Each nominee was evaluated against numerous qualitative and quantitative criteria, ranging from assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work. This ranking encompasses only a select group of financial advisors and highlights some of the most prominent men and women in the financial services industry.
