Rea Staff Collects More Than 12 Tons of Food for the Hungry

New Philadelphia, Ohio -- Local families will have more food for the holidays thanks to the efforts of employees at Rea & Associates. Employees of the CPA firm's 13 offices raised nearly 25,000 pounds of food during the annual holiday food drive.

"I'm very proud of our employees and their commitment to help others," said Lee Beall, CEO. "Our firm follows a values statement known as the Rea Way, which encourages employees to invest in the communities we serve, and this is one way everyone could participate."

Each office donated their collected food to a different charity, which included Share-A-Christmas, the Salvation Army, Guernsey County Senior Center, Choices Domestic Violence Center, Dublin Food Pantry, Christian Corner Community Center, Marietta Community Food Pantry, Beverly Food Pantry, Medina Battered Women's Shelter, Woman Safe and Lighthouse Love Center. Firm-wide, each employee donated an average of nearly 100 pounds.

"Our employees worked very hard to top our food drive totals from last year, and we increased our donations by more than 8,000 pounds over last year," said Jo Ann Edie, benefits coordinator and one of the food drive's coordinators. "It is great that we are able to help the holiday season be a little brighter for so many families."
