New Philadelphia, Ohio – Four Central Ohio and three Northeast Ohio executive directors were recently awarded the Rea & Associates Executive Director of the Year Award as part of Smart Business’ Pillar Award for Community Service.
“Our firm serves hundreds of not-for-profit clients around Ohio and has a dedicated team that assists nonprofit organizations across the region,” noted Mark VanBenschoten, the firm’s director of not-for-profit services. “As a result, it makes perfect sense for us to sponsor these awards. We’re very excited to honor this year’s executive directors for their hard work and dedication.”
VanBenschoten presented Central Ohio awards on January 21, 2010, to John C. “Jack” Fisher, executive vice president of Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, Michelle M. Mills, president and CEO of St. Stephens Community House, Charles W. Gehring, head of LifeCare Alliance and John Hrusovsky, CEO of GroundWork with the awards at the Columbus ceremony. Those from Northeast Ohio recognized on December 3 included Richard R. Frank, president and CEO of Berea Children’s Home and Family Services, Sophie Sureau, executive director of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Northeast Ohio Affiliate, and David Simpson, CEO of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
“Supporting our community is such an integral part of our firm’s culture. Our value statement, called ‘the Rea Way,’ reads in part ‘Invest in your family, your community and your future.’” said Lee Beall, Rea’s CEO. “We welcomed the opportunity to recognize others who share the vision for making their communities better.”
