Rea's Medina Office Raises More Than 550 lbs of Food for the Hungry

Sixth annual holiday food drive helps local community

Local families will have more food for the holidays thanks to the efforts of employees at Rea & Associates. Employees of the CPA firm's Medina office raised more than 550 pounds of food as part of a firm-wide drive that raised 24,000 pounds among the firm's 11 offices.

"I'm very proud of our team and their commitment to helping others," said Dave McCarthy, shareholder and manager of Rea's Medina office. "Helping in the community is an important part of our culture here at Rea. The food drive was a great way for our offices to participate in a firm-wide effort that benefits each of our local communities."

Each office donated their collected food to a different charity. The Medina office collections will benefit Medina Battered Women's Shelter and St. Paul Episcopal Church Food Bank. Firm-wide, employees donated an average of more than 100 pounds of food per person.

"It is great to be able to help the holiday season be a little brighter for so many families," said Janis Mack, administrative assistant and one of the food drive's coordinators. "We've made the food drive an annual holiday event that entices friendly competition between our offices for a great cause."
