New Philadelphia, Ohio -- In its annual holiday food drive, Rea & Associates collected a total of 16,490 pounds of food to donate to food pantries and charitable organizations across the state, more than 6,000 pounds greater than the total in 2006.
“The Rea Way, a value statement we try to live by, calls for us to invest in the communities we serve,” said Tim Michel, CPA, president of Rea & Associates. “I am proud of the Rea team for caring about their neighbors who may be in need of some help at this time of year.”
Each office donated their collected food to a different charity. The Cambridge office collected the most, weighing in at 3,745 pounds. Firm-wide, each employee donated an average of 80 pounds.
“I was totally blown away by everyone’s generosity,” said Jo Ann Edie, benefits coordinator and one of the food drive’s coordinators. “It is a good feeling to know that we helped so many families this holiday season.”
