New Philadelphia, Ohio – Food pantries in 11 Ohio communities will have nearly 18,000 pounds of additional food to share with those in need this holiday season thanks to generous team members at Rea & Associates. Team members at the CPA firm’s 11 offices raised the food as part of a firm-wide food drive.
“We know that the need for food is greater than ever this holiday season,” said Lee Beall, CPA, Rea’s CEO. “Ever since Richard Rea founded Rea & Associates in 1938, helping our community has been an important part of our culture. The food drive is a way that all of our offices can work together to support a common cause that benefits each of the local communities we serve.”
Jo Ann Edie, benefits coordinator and one of the food drive’s coordinators, said “We are lucky to work side-by-side with some very generous, awesome people. Year after year, they continue to amaze me with the donations they bring.”
Each Rea office designated a local charitable organization to receive the donations from its food collection. The offices held a friendly competition to determine which office could raise the most pounds of food per employee. The Millersburg office won the contest with an average donation of 338 pounds of food per person.
Charities receiving the food included Dublin Community Church Food Pantry, the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center (serving the Cambridge and Zanesville area), the Christian Corner Community Center in Lima, the Marietta Community Food Pantry, the Battered Women’s Shelter and Holy Martyrs Food Bank in Medina, WomenSafe in Mentor, Love Center Food Pantry in Millersburg, Share-A-Christmas in New Philadelphia and the Salvation Army of Wooster.
