Top 100 Accounting Firm Welcomes Eight Interns To Seven Ohio Locations
June 12, 2018 – Taking the necessary steps to prepare for professional success is ultimately an individual endeavor, but Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, is committed to helping ambitious young professionals along the way. The hands-on training and real-world experience interns have reportedly experienced upon entering the firm’s internship program provides participants with a firm foundation in their quest for professional success. Rea recently kicked off the summer edition of its highly regarded program, by welcoming 8 interns to seven of the firm’s 13 locations.
“We actively look for and recruit talented students to take part in our internship program over the summer,” said Renee West, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, Rea’s human resources manager. “It’s a great way to become immersed in the various activities and responsibilities those in public accounting work through every day. We want to provide our interns with a valuable, holistic experience and that’s exactly what they get over the summer. Not only are they able to work on real-world tax projects, they have the opportunity to take on audit work as well as become introduced to the numerous specialty services we offer as a full-service CPA firm.”
Over the summer, explained West, interns will work closely with a “buddy” who has been assigned to assist them and structure their workload in a way that will provide each intern with unique real-world experience. The intern’s buddies, along with the firm’s office managers, have prepared specialized Internship Action Plans to strategically distribute how much time will be spent on each career focus, and how much time will be spent on seeking out first-hand career immersion opportunities.
West said that throughout the program, each intern will have monthly meetings to assess their progress and voice questions or concerns. In addition to these meetings, the firm’s HR team will actively monitor each interns experience while promoting ongoing communication and plans for continued improvement.
“We are happy to welcome Rea’s 2018 Summer Interns into the firm. The goal of our program is to provide each of them opportunity to contribute to the firm’s daily activities,” said West. “This program continues to support the growth of our firm and development of the profession. We appreciate each of them participating in Rea’s program.”
